The Ancherykavu Bhagavathi temple is a Hindu temple that worships the goddess Bhadrakali as the supreme deity.
The goddess is worshipped here in her fierce and powerful form. The idol of the goddess is depicted with multiple arms and various weapons to protect her devotees from evil.
The temple also worships the lord Ayyappa and lord Ganapathy as the subdeities and has separate sanctum sanctorum for them.
The temple is located in the village of Ancherykavu in the Thrissur district of Kerala. '
Major Festivals / Events
The Bharani Vela is considered the most significant festival of the Ancherykavu Bhadrakali temple.
The festival is famous for its grandeur, procession, and cultural performances. It is usually celebrated on the Bharani nakshatra day of the Makaram (January- February) month.
There are many offerings which are performed by the devotees to their goddess. It includes special poojas, rituals, offering fruits, sweets, oil lamps, flowers, garlands, etc.
The temple is located around 5km away from Thrissur city and it is easy to reach this area by bus or car.
