The Sree Maheswara Temple is one of the Hindu temples which is located in the village of Koorkencherry in the Thrissur district of Kerala. 

The primary deities of this temple are lord Shiva Along with goddess Parvati, lord Ganapati, lord Murugan, lord ayyappan, lord Krishnan, lord muthappan, goddess bhadrakali, navagrahas and serapant deities are also worshipped here in their separate sanctum sanctorum. 

Based on the history, the temple was established by Sree Narayana Gurudeva.

Thaipooyam Mahotsavam is one of the most celebrated festival of koorkencherry Sree Maheswara Temple. It is mainly dedicated to the lord muruga, son of lord shiva and goddess Parvati. Kavadiyattom and the grand procession are the key highlights of this celebration. Thaipooyam Mahotsavam stands in second place in the biggest festivals in the Thrissur district.
